Board Of Trustees

The District is governed by a board of five members appointed by each incorporated city and the county at-large.  Trustees are appointed for a fixed term of either two (2) or four (4) years, depending on what their appointing body decides.

Darin HaleDarin Hale - PresidentTerm Appointed: February 2023

After spending his entire childhood on a farm, Darin graduated from Big Valley High School in 1995. He immediately entered the construction industry and spent his first 5 years refining his skill in various locations along the West Coast, while gaining recognition of his woodwork and carpentry in several magazines, papers, and television programs. In 2000, he decided to establish himself in Shasta County, start a family, and continue with his construction experience in both the private and public sectors. During the economic downturn, he was able to secure steady work in the Bay Area working on multiple school, hospital, and big tech construction projects. More notably, he spent 6 months working on the Samsung Semiconductor, over a year working on 49ers Levi Stadium, and a year as the construction lead at Travis AFB under the Department of Defense. In 2018, he began his service in the public sector as a building inspector / code enforcement officer for the City of Anderson, and now currently serves as a public works inspector for the City of Redding. Darin is a proud resident of the Anderson community and enjoys spending time camping and vacationing with his family. In addition, he has volunteered at the Frontier Senior Center, and also serves on the board for New California as the Sergeant at Arms.

After graduating Anderson High School, Philip attended Humboldt State University where he earned his B.S. and M.S. in Biology. Philip is an Environmental Scientist for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, working with the Watershed Restoration Grants Branch to coordinate and manage restoration projects throughout Northern California. Prior to his employment with CDFW, he was an Environmental Planner with the California Department of Transportation, specializing in environmental mitigation and restoration projects, and prior to that was a Project Manager at the Western Shasta Resource Conservation District. Philip is currently on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Mary Lake, and in his free time enjoys cycling and hiking throughout the North State.

Dave MaronDave Maron - SecretaryTerm Appointed: March 2021

Dave came to Shasta County in 1999 with his family to continue his career as a Public Health Microbiologist at the Shasta County Public Health Laboratory. He supervised the laboratory for nine years and spent his final 11 years as the Program Manager for the Shasta County Public Health Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Program before retiring. Prior to that, he served for nine years at the California Department of Health Services Viral and Rickettsial Disease Laboratories in Berkeley, California. He is a graduate of San Francisco State University in the field of Clinical Science and holds licensure and certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Public Health Microbiologist. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, he currently enjoys working part time for Dignity Health in Redding. He is a Jeep adventurer, outdoorsman, enjoys reading and cooking, and is active in various local committees and charitable organizations.

Ann has lived in the City of Shasta Lake for over 25 years. She arrived in Central Valley just in time to campaign and vote for the City of Shasta Lake. She has taught part time at Shasta College for 17 years. Her classes include networking, computer repair and computer security. She is presently on the boards of Shasta Lake Gateway Library, Shasta Lake Fire Protection District and now Shasta Mosquito and Vector Control District. Her hobbies include Silver Smith and Lampwork beads.
