The green shaded area in the above map shows the Shasta Mosquito and Vector Control District, which encompasses approximately 1,086 square miles in Shasta County, California. The District runs along the I-5 corridor from the Tehama County line to the Siskiyou County line, along Highway 44 from Redding to Viola, and includes areas to the west such as Igo, Ono and French Gulch. Communities within the District include Cottonwood (Shasta County only), Anderson, Redding, City of Shasta Lake, Lakehead, Castella, French Gulch, Igo, Ono, Olinda, Bella Vista, Jones Valley, Palo Cedro, Millville, Shingletown and Viola.
