2.         Public Hearing and Consideration of the Levy of Assessments for Proposed Mosquito, Vector and Disease Control Assessment District #2 for the Shasta Mosquito and Vector Control District

4.         Staff and Assessment Engineers Response to Public Questions

 

5.         Last Call for Ballots

 

6.            Closing of Public Input

 

7.            Authorization to Direct Donald R. Reynolds CPA, the Independent Accounting and Auditing Firm to begin the Tabulation of All Returned Ballots and Continue the Public Hearing until July 17, 2007.

 

8.            Return to Regular Board of Trustees Meeting

 

9.            Opportunity for public comment

Persons wishing to address the Board are requested to receive recognition from the President of the Board, give their name, address and the subject they wish to discuss.

 

10.            Consent Calendar –

All matters listed under item 10, CONSENT CALENDAR, are considered by the Board to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. If a Board member wants to discuss an item, this item needs to be pulled from the calendar. The other items will then be voted as a block. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless good cause is shown prior to the time the Board votes on the motion to adopt.

 

10.1   Consider approval of the Minutes of the Regular Board of Trustees Meeting held May 15, 2007.

 

           

            10.2            Communications –  

a. Mysterious Death has a West Nile Link – Sacramento Bee – June 10, 2007

b. Dead Bird Tests Positive for West Nile Virus in Shasta County – Shasta county West Nile Virus Task Force – June 12, 2007

 

10.3    Accept Report from Manager on the District’s Revenue and Expenditure Report at May 31, 2007.

 

10.4    Accept Report from Manager on District Operations for month of May 2007

 

10.5    Consider Approval of Resolution No. 2007-04 Establishing the Appropriation Limit for the 2007- 2008 Fiscal Year

 

10.6        Authorization to Redeposit the 2007 Non-Equity Pool Distribution of  $5,200 (Worker’s Compensation $2,011, Liability $3,189) into the District’s VCJPA Member Contingency Fund

 

11.             a.            Approval of transfers needed to pay District’s June claims

b.            Transfer $30,000 from Fixed Asset account 077140 Vehicle Building Expansion and $70,000 from Fixed Asset 5 vehicle account 077541to 00464 Fund account 009115 Emergency Disease Control and Response

c.            Approval of Accounts Payable

 

12.            Consider Approval of Updated phone system proposal from Gaynor Telesystems, Inc. in the amount of $6,350

 

13.            Consider replacing Nextel field communication system with cell phones.

 

14.            Report from the 2007- 2008 Budget Committee.  

 

15.            Accept Preliminary 2007-2008 Fiscal Year Budget for District #1 in the amount of $2,219,330.

 

16.            Discussion of Shasta Mosquito and Vector Control District’s Mosquito, Vector and Disease Control Assessment Engineer’s Report, June 2007 (District 1)

 

17.            Consider Approval of Resolution No. 2007-05 of Intention to Levy Assessments for fiscal year 2007-2008, preliminarily approving the Engineer’s Reports and providing for Notice of Hearing for the Mosquito, Vector and Disease Control Assessment (District #1)

 

18.            Board/staff general discussion. Opportunity for Board members to ask questions for clarification, provide information to staff, request staff to report back on a matter, or to direct staff to place a matter on a subsequent agenda.
