Malaria
It is vectored by Anopheles spp. mosquitoes from an infected human to a new susceptible human host. There are several plasmodia (single celled parasites) responsible for the illness, and the severity of the disease can be influenced by the infective plasmodium.
Symptom Onset:
- 7-30 days before symptoms appear
- Fever
- Headache
- General Malaise
- Bodyaches
- Chills
- Perspiration
- Nausea & Vomiting
- Periods of dormancy and relapse
